COMPLETE EXTRUSION. ENGINEERED AS ONE.
Upstream

Prepare every billet for a controlled press cycle.

Upstream performance sets the conditions for everything that follows. ALUFORMIX upstream systems are engineered to move, clean, heat, cut, buffer and position logs and billets with the consistency required for reliable extrusion. Equipment can be supplied individually or integrated into a complete automated preparation line.

Equipment

ALUFORMIX Upstream equipment

ALUFORMIX automatic extrusion log storage, charging and feeding system

Automatic Log Storage

A structured storage and feeding system for receiving, buffering and presenting aluminium logs to the production line. Configurations can be adapted to log diameter, length, storage quantity, crane access and desired automation level.

  • Organized first-in/selected-log handling
  • Integration with loaders and plant logistics
  • Layout options for available floor space
  • Safety guarding and controlled access by project design

Log Loader & Pusher

Transfers selected logs from storage to the furnace entry and advances them through the heating process. The system is configured around furnace arrangement, load pattern, log dimensions and production sequence.

  • Single or multiple-log loading concepts
  • Chain, gravity or powered transfer options
  • Position feedback and sequence interlocks
  • Service-friendly mechanical arrangement

Log / Billet Cleaning System

Removes loose contamination and surface deposits before heating. Cleaning supports a cleaner furnace environment and more controlled billet preparation.

  • Rotary brushing configurations
  • Water-based washing options
  • Collection and drainage arrangement
  • Integration before furnace loading

Billet Heating Furnace & Preheating

Heats logs or billets to the defined process window before extrusion. Furnace configuration is selected according to fuel or electrical availability, alloy range, throughput, temperature uniformity and line-control requirements.

  • Gas, electric or hybrid concepts subject to project study
  • Multi-zone temperature control
  • Recipe-based operation and production sequencing
  • Optional taper-heating concepts where technically applicable
  • Heat-recovery and efficiency measures by design

Billet Rest Station

Provides controlled buffering and support between heating, cutting and press loading. A well-engineered rest station helps stabilize material flow while preserving safe, repeatable billet presentation.

  • Support for different billet lengths and diameters
  • Temperature-resistant contact arrangement
  • Integration with transfer and positioner sequence
  • Guarding and maintenance access

Hot Log Shear

Cuts heated logs into the billet length required for the press cycle. The cutting concept is selected around diameter range, alloy, required cut quality and production rate.

  • Single or multiple-cut process options
  • Adjustable billet-length control
  • Integration with billet-rest utilization
  • Hydraulic and control integration

Hot Saw with Chip Extraction

Produces controlled billet lengths using a sawing process and removes generated chips from the working area. The unit can be applied where cut quality, alloy behavior or process preference favors sawing.

  • Configurable diameter and length range
  • Chip collection and extraction interface
  • Guarded cutting zone
  • Automatic transfer to the next stage

Billet Transfer System

Moves hot billets safely between the furnace exit, cutting station, buffer, positioner and loader. Transfer may be configured as floor-mounted, overhead or a combination based on layout and heat conditions.

  • Powered roller, walking, lift-and-transfer or aerial concepts
  • Heat-resistant supports
  • Position detection and interlocks
  • Coordinated cycle with downstream equipment

Billet Positioner

Centers, orients and presents the billet for the final press-loading movement. Accurate positioning reduces handling variation at one of the most critical interfaces in the line.

  • Horizontal or aerial transfer arrangement
  • Diameter and length verification options
  • Centering and alignment control
  • Interface with robotic or automatic loader

Robotic Loader / Robotic Arm

A single engineered cell combining billet shear, billet gauge, billet transfer, positioning pusher and robotic arm, so the last movements before the press are handled as one coordinated sequence rather than as separate machines with separate cycles. It is supplied where layout, cycle time or billet weight make an integrated cell the better answer than discrete stations.

  • Billet shear and billet gauge in the same cell
  • Billet transfer and positioning pusher
  • Robotic arm with heat-resistant gripping
  • Single PLC sequence across the whole cell
  • Coordinated handover to the press-side loader
