COMPLETE EXTRUSION. ENGINEERED AS ONE.
FAQ

Answers to the questions buyers ask first.

Scope, press capacities, quotation inputs, modernization, automation, service and project timelines.

What does ALUFORMIX supply?

ALUFORMIX supplies equipment and engineering solutions across the aluminium extrusion process, including upstream billet preparation, press-zone systems, hydraulic extrusion presses, downstream handling, automation and logistics, heat treatment, packaging, auxiliary equipment and modernization.

Can ALUFORMIX supply a complete extrusion line?

Yes. A complete-line scope can include process definition, layout, equipment integration, automation architecture, manufacturing coordination, installation, commissioning and training. The final scope is developed around the customer’s production program and project conditions.

What press capacities are available?

ALUFORMIX supplies hydraulic extrusion press solutions from 800 MT to 4,000 MT. In billet terms that is a 4″ to 10″ diameter capability, covering the 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 inch variants. The press selected for a given plant still depends on alloy, profile program, extrusion ratio and detailed engineering.

Can I purchase only one machine?

Yes. Individual upstream, press-zone, downstream, automation, heat-treatment, packaging or auxiliary machines can be supplied and integrated with existing equipment after interface review.

What information is required for a quotation?

Typical inputs include the required scope, billet diameter and length, alloys, profile range, target capacity, current equipment details, layout, utilities, automation preference, standards and delivery location.

Does ALUFORMIX modernize equipment from other manufacturers?

ALUFORMIX can evaluate existing extrusion equipment of different origins for mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, control, safety and downstream upgrades. Feasibility depends on documentation, condition and site inspection.

Can ALUFORMIX integrate automation with an existing line?

Yes, subject to technical assessment. Integration may include PLC and HMI upgrades, conveyors, stackers, basket handling, SCADA, condition monitoring and plant-system interfaces.

How is a quenching system selected?

Selection depends on alloy, profile geometry, metallurgical requirement, extrusion speed, available space, water quality, drainage and the degree of recipe control required.

What affects downstream-line design?

Profile length, section geometry, surface sensitivity, press output, cooling time, stretching requirement, finished-cut length, inspection method, basket system and floor space all influence downstream design.

Can ageing ovens use gas or electricity?

Both may be considered. The final choice depends on utility availability, batch size, temperature-uniformity requirement, operating cost, environmental targets and local regulations.

Does ALUFORMIX provide installation and commissioning?

Installation supervision, commissioning, trials and training can be included in the project proposal. Responsibility boundaries, site resources and acceptance criteria are defined contractually.

Are spare parts available for existing machines?

ALUFORMIX can support identification and supply of selected parts and replacement assemblies after reviewing drawings, samples, equipment data and operating conditions.

Is remote technical support available?

Remote diagnostics may be offered where the equipment, network security and service agreement permit it. Coverage and response commitments are confirmed in the applicable support contract.

Can ALUFORMIX guarantee energy savings?

A reliable savings figure requires a measured baseline, a defined upgrade scope and an agreed verification method. ALUFORMIX does not recommend publishing a fixed percentage without that evidence.

How long does an extrusion-line project take?

The schedule depends on scope, press size, level of customization, approvals, bought-out equipment, site readiness, shipping and commissioning. A project schedule is issued after technical and commercial scope alignment.
